Hibiscus Tea
Hibiscus Tea

Preparation:

  • A container "with 1 liter capacity"

Directions:

  1. Pour the water into the container, add the sweetener and stir until it dissolves.
  2. Add the hibiscus “flowers or tea bags”, add the lemon juice and give it stir. Keep it in the fridge for an hour.

I usually prepare the mixture and put it in the fridge overnight. In the morning I take out the flowers, and drink throughout the day or over the next few days. Stored in the refrigerator, it keeps fresh for few days.

This herbal infusion can be served hot or over ice. The herbal tea is brewed in boiling water just like regular tea and can be made from dried petals of hibiscus flowers or tea bags. Steep the tea for four-to-five minutes "longer if a stronger brew is desired".

Sweeteners may be added based on taste before drinking. Spices such as cinnamon and clove may be added during the brewing process. Hibiscus tea is an ancient herbal infusion with a refreshingly crisp and sweet flavor.
